Zong announces to sponsor five teams in Faysal Bank T20 Cup


ISLAMABAD, Feb 5 (APP): China Mobile Pakistan-Zong has announced the sponsorship of four provincial and one Federal Capital team in the Faysal Bank Twenty20 Cup that rolls into action on Thursday at four different venues of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. “Zong is immensely pleased and excited about sponsoring one of the most exhilarating domestic cricket tournaments of this season,” Sikandar Naqi, advisor to chief Zong said at a logos unveiling ceremony at local hotel here.
The teams being sponsored by Zong include Lahore Eagles, Karachi Zebras, Peshawar Panthers, Quetta Bears and Islamabad Leopards.
“We have proudly become a regular patron of cricket and hope to see great sportsman spirit during the event. We wish all the teams best and look forward to entertainment of the highest level,” Sikandar added.
The event is first in the country’s history which is being supported by a host of other sponsors including Brighto Paints, United Mobiles, Adamjee Life, Acson Internation, Epoxy Industries, Five Star Foam, Nobel TV, Mughal Steel and Haier Pakistan.
Two teams each are being sponsored by Mughal Steel and Epoxy Industries. Mughal Steel is sponsoring Abbotabad Falcons and Larkana Bulls, while Epoxy is sponsoring Hyderabad Hawks and Bahawalpur Stags. United Mobile is sponsoring Sialkot Stallions, Brighto Paints to Lahore Lions and Haier Pakistan to Karachi Dolphins.
Faisalabad Wolves, Multan Tigers and FATA Cheetahs are being sponsored by Adamjee Life, Five Star Foam and Nobel TV, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion Director Domestic Cricket Pakistan Cricket Board Intikhab Alam thanked all the team sponsors for supporting the teams of different regions and assured them competitive game in the tournament.
He said expressed the optimism that they would continue backing cricket teams to make country’s domestic cricket structure strong. “With the passage of time we will be able to bring back international cricket in Pakistan,” he said.
