QWP party leader with three others, killed in blast


PESHAWAR, (NNI): Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosions in Buner and Peshawar districts have killed four people including a leader of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) on Saturday.

Police said the vehicle of local leader of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Adalat Khan was targeted with a remote control device on Gokand Road in Buner district when he was on his way to a local court.

DIG Malakand Abdullah Khan also confirmed that the blast occurred near the leader’s vehicle in Gokand Road of the city.

In the explosion Adalat Khan and his two other companions were killed. DIG Malakand Abdullah Khan said, the blast occurred near Qaumi Watan Party’s (QWP) leader on Gokand Road of the city. Former Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan is central Chairman of the QWP.

Police said that three persons were killed and two injured in the blast.

Police has cordoned off the area and started collecting evidence from the blast site.

Police has also started search operation for the culprits. Bomb Disposal Sqad has also been called in the area.The injured and dead bodies were shifted to the nearby hospital.

Meanwhile, in Peshawar one person killed in a powerful explosion in Nasir Bagh area.

Police said that they are investigating the whether the man who was killed in blast was a suicide or not.
